Happy Mother's Day- How to Make Mother's Day Cards

Happy Mother's Day to all the fabulous Room 8 Mums. We had a wonderful time on Friday making cards and writing letters to our Mums. The kids had such lovely things to say about you all. And how cool do they look!?
For anyone else wanting to have a go at making something similar, here's how we made them.

1. Take photos of children. Use a plain backdrop.

2. Use the free app Crayola- Lights Camera Colour to turn your photos into colouring pages with one click.

3. Save the photos to the App Gallery, then press the share button, to share to your camera roll.

4. You could print straight from here, I however opened the photos in Pic Collage, as I wanted 2 per page and I also wanted a black border around the photos. (note: If you don't want to have a watermark when you print your photos, you need to upgrade the app for a small fee)

5. Print onto water colour paper, and cut out.

6. Children wet brushes and use water colour blocks to apply dots of colour around their heads.

7. Children use straws to blow the paint in different directions. It also looked pretty cool when the kids flicked their brushes to get a splatter effect.

8. Once dry children stick their pictures onto the front of their cards.

We had a blast making these and I hope you do too.  Idea taken from here.
